Great Lent is a season to rediscover God through prayer, says Bishop Daniel in a new video message.
He calls on the faithful to rediscover the source of divine hope that has brought inner strength to generations of Armenian Christians.
Great Lent has always been a time for inner reflection and conversion, the Diocesan Primate reminds us. But this particular year holds special meaning for the Armenian people, who have endured a time of great suffering, injustice, and loss.
Bishop Daniel urges the faithful to take time out of each day for the duration of Lent, to pray and draw closer to God. As an aid to that daily practice, the Eastern Diocese has made available a Daily Prayer Rule for Great Lent, to guide people in communal prayer, to speak from our hearts in a united voice, and to contribute to the building up of the Body of Christ.
