The Eastern Diocese is pleased to release its 2019 Annual Report to Donors, titled “Still United in Spirit.”

For this year, the Diocese chose to forgo its usual printing of the report, and has instead issued it in an electronic format. You can download the full report below. It’s an excellent way to learn about the work our Diocese, and to let yourself be inspired by the images of wonderful people among our parishes, bound together by their Armenian heritage and a sense of warmhearted Christian fellowship.

While the report presents information from 2019, the work of the Eastern Diocese has been ongoing in 2020, adapting to the pandemic that has challenged life in ways we could not have imagined a year ago.Though the lockdown brought a painful interruption to our communal life, the Diocese and its local parishes have adapted to the circumstances, pioneering creative new ways to reach people through online badarakbroadcasts; virtual seminars, camps, and discussion groups; and initiatives like the Vemkar educational resource, the first pillar of “Building Up the Body of Christ,” our Primate’s vision for the Eastern Diocese.

As Bishop Daniel expresses it in the report: “Our beautiful community of the spirit—the Armenian Church—is Christ’s gift to our people. As such, no earthly power can ever overcome it. United in spirit, we will endure this extraordinary year. And I pray that we will soon rediscover the joy and comfort of being together under the loving eyes of our Lord.”
