Diocesan Ministries Department Welcomes New Staff Members

On August 15 at the Diocesan Center in New York, staff of the Ministries Department gathered online and in-person to review an active and successful summer of activities, and discuss projects in the works for the coming autumn season.

Primate Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan presided over the meeting, with Fr. Hratch Sargsyan, the interim Director of Ministries, leading the discussions.

The day was also an occasion to formally welcome the department’s two newest members to the Ministries team, both of whom came onboard earlier this summer.

Norayr Kazazian (pictured above, top right) has been heading up the Diocese’s Armenian Language Ministry program, reaching out to parish Armenian schools in anticipation of the coming school year, working to create educational resources, and planning seminars and workshops for educators and students alike. Curriculum materials Norayr developed earlier this summer were used during the recent Diocesan camp sessions.

Dn. Adam Bullock (above, bottom right) has been working with the Youth and Young Adult Ministries program, spending time at the Diocesan camps assisting the respective directors, as well as leading St. Nersess Summer Conferences. A 2022 graduate of St. Nersess Seminary, Dn. Adam spent six months in Jerusalem at the Armenian Patriarchate, before joining the Diocesan staff. Going forward, he will be working with the ACYOA Juniors and the Adult Christian Education Ministry.

During the August 15 meeting, Ministries staff members Fr. Mamigon Kiledjian (Sacred Music Instruction), Jennifer Morris (Youth and Young Adult Ministries), and Yn. Hasmik Ajamian (Children and Family Ministry) shared information on their recent activities and upcoming projects.

Fr. Mesrop Parsamyan led a discussion on the Diocesan Plan titled “Growing In Faith Together” (GIFT), which was introduced at the Diocesan Assembly this year, and will be the guiding basis for the efforts of the Ministries department in the future.

With the new staff members added to the team, the Ministries Department will be holding monthly meetings to keep each other apprised of their respective plans and projects.
