The Nativity and Baptism of Jesus Christ will be observed at New York’s St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral on Friday and Saturday, January 5 and 6, 2018. A special liturgical schedule will be in effect for these “Armenian Christmas” services.
Answering the “Why” of Christmas

Most Christian churches lead up to Christmas with a period called Advent. Advent means “coming,” and refers to the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Armenian we call this lead-up period Hisnag—from the word for “fifty”—referring to the 50-day period of preparation anticipating the Nativity and Theophany of Christ (celebrated on January 6 in the Armenian Church).

Communication is Key at ACYOA’s 2017 Leadership Conference
The Eastern Diocese’s annual “ACYOA Leadership Conference” brought together young adults from 20 parishes on November 17-19. Some 43 young adults—almost half of whom were first-time participants—gathered at the St. Iakovos Retreat Center in Kansasville, WI, for the conference organized by the ACYOA Central Council.
