Rev. Fr. Martiros Hakobyan was born on August 7, 1978, in Etchmiadzin, Armenia.

From 1995 to 1998, he studied at the Seminary of Shirag. In 1998, he enrolled at the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

On December 25, 2003, he was ordained as a deacon by Bishop Sion Adamyan.

From 2004 to 2005, he served as a secretary to His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, at the Catholicosate of Holy Etchmiadzin. Between 2005 and 2007, Fr. Martiros served as the official host of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. He also contributed to spiritual programs at Shoghakat TV.

He was ordained to the holy priesthood by Archbishop Vicken Aykazian on June 24, 2007.

Between September and December 2007, he served as a celebrant priest at the Holy Trinity Church in Yerevan. He also studied at the American University of Armenia (AUA) in Yerevan, Armenia.

On January 12, 2008, Fr. Martiros was invited by Archbishop Khajag Barsamian to continue his pastoral service in the Eastern Diocese. From January 2008 to December 31, 2009, he was a pastoral intern at the St. James Armenian Church in Watertown, MA.

Fr. Martiros has served as the interim pastor at the St. Gregory of Narek Church in Cleveland, OH, and is currently the pastor of St. Kevork Church in Houston. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at the Cleveland Clinic and a master's degree at St. Thomas University Seminary in Houston.

Fr. Martiros is married to Yn. Hasmik Hakobyan, and they are blessed with a son, Jirair.
