Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), traveled to St. David Church in Boca Raton, FL, on January 13-15, to meet with parishioners and church organizations, and to honor the 10th ordination anniversary of pastor Rev. Fr. Paren Galstyan.
Watertown Parish Celebrates Name Day
On Sunday, December 18, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), visited St. James Church of Watertown, MA, as the parish observed its 85th anniversary and held its annual Name Day celebration. The church is named for St. James, the Bishop of Nisibis, whose feast day fell on December 17 this year.
The Rev. Fr. Arakel Aljalian, parish pastor, celebrated the Divine Liturgy; Archbishop Barsamian delivered the sermon.
At a banquet following services, longtime parishioners Krikor and Nancy Kassabian were presented with the “Parishioners of the Year” award. Former Sunday School superintendent Marsha Alabachian received the parish’s “Service Award” for her decades of service to the Sunday School. The Kassabians and Ms. Alabachian also received the Diocese’s “St. Vartan Award.”
Houston’s St. Kevork Church Turns 35
On Sunday, December 11, St. Kevork Church of Houston, TX, celebrated its 35th anniversary and welcomed Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), who took part in the day’s events.
St. James Church Marks 60 Years
On Sunday, November 27, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), visited St. James Church of Richmond, VA, as the community celebrated the parish’s 60th anniversary.
St. Mary Church Marks 90th Anniversary
On Saturday, November 19, St. Mary Church of Livingston, NJ, celebrated its 90th anniversary with a celebratory dinner at the church’s Haroutune and Siranoush Toufayan Hall with over 200 parishioners and guests in attendance. Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), presided over the occasion.
