In collaboration with the Metropolitan Museum of Art and its “Armenia!” exhibit, St. Vartan Cathedral will hold a special liturgical program on the evening of Tuesday, November 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Through an evening prayer (“vespers”) service, participants will experience the spiritual environment that gave birth to the artworks on display at the Met exhibition—and appreciate their beauty, function, and place in Armenian civilization.
Diocesan Primate the Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan will preside. Area clergy will participate, with St. Nersess seminarians and the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Maestro Khoren Mekanejian.
The event (part of the cathedral’s 50th anniversary) is open to the public, and admission is free. A reception will follow. St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral is located at 630 Second Avenue (at 34th Street), New York City.
