A heartwarming evening of worship and fellowship took place at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester, MA, on Wednesday, October 29, as area students from the Armenian and Coptic churches gathered for the Divine Liturgy.
Parish pastor Fr. Tadeos Barseghyan celebrated the badarak jointly with Fr. Youhanna Gobran. Fr. Gobran is the priest of St. Philopater Mercurius and St. Mina Coptic Orthodox Church in Wayland, MA, and pastor for the Coptic Student Association of Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Other clergy in attendance included Fr. Khachatur Kesablyan, Fr. Gomidas Baghsarian, and Fr. Nerseh Khalatyan.
Together the Coptic and Armenian college students prayed and received Holy Communion, and then adjourned to the church hall for a gracious dinner and fellowship.
“It was a blessing to welcome these Coptic and Armenian students for a joint Sourp Badarak, celebrating our unity as one family in Christ,” said Fr. Barseghyan. “I’m deeply grateful to Fr. Yohannes for being part of this special day, and to all the students who served on the altar and worshiped together!”
