FILM DESCRIPTION: The Cost of Water is an investigative documentary on Armenia’s growing water crisis, and its far-reaching impacts. The film explores the causes of this depletion, including poor water management, non-transparent government practices, and the effects of climate change. The situation is further complicated by the aftermath of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and Azerbaijan’s intrusion into Armenian territories. The documentary shows how these issues have reshaped Armenia’s water security architecture, leaving communities struggling with a scarcity of drinking and irrigation water. The film is in Armenian with English subtitles.
