Hundreds of Armenian Church leaders from across the Eastern Diocese will gather for the 116th Diocesan Assembly, meeting May 3-5 at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel, in West Harrison, NY.

St. Gregory the Enlightener Church of White Plains is hosting the gathering, as well as the Clergy Conference and Women’s Guild Assembly.

This year’s assembly theme, “Under One Roof,” expresses the cooperative spirit within the Diocesan Ministries, and among the Diocese and its local parishes.

At the annual awards banquet on Friday, May 4, Toros Mangassarian, of the White Plains parish, will be honored as the Diocese’s 2018 “Armenian Church Member of the Year.” Dr. Stephen Smith, of the USC Shoah Foundation, will be honored as this year’s “Friend of the Armenians.”

The special “St. Vartan Cathedral Golden Anniversary Medal” will be bestowed on Mr. and Mrs. Nazar and Artemis Nazarian, in conjunction with the cathedral’s 50th anniversary milestone.
