The annual Clergy Conference of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America convened April 30 to May 2, 2018, at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel in West Harrison, NY, hosted by the St. Gregory the Enlightener Church in White Plains.
Women’s Guild representatives from local parishes across the Eastern Diocese met in West Harrison, NY, in early May for the 32nd annual Women’s Guild Assembly. The gathering at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel was hosted by the St. Gregory the Enlightener Church of White Plains, and organized by the Women’s Guild Central Council (WGCC).
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, confirmed the election of the Very Reverend Fr. Daniel Findikyan as the new Primate of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.
“I congratulate the 50th anniversary of this cathedral,” said Archbishop Khajag Barsamian in his message to worshippers who crowded every corner of New York’s St. Vartan Cathedral. “This is a place that has welcomed people from every walk of life, every background, who have come together here to pray, share our friendship, and learn the rich Christian heritage of the Armenian people.”
“The future depends on what we do in the present.”
Those powerful words—spoken by Mahatma Gandhi—were emblazoned as a marquis over an exhibit marking the 50th anniversary of St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in New York City.
