A special celebration will take place in the Eastern Diocese this weekend, as Dn. Timothy Aznavourian is ordained as a priest of the Armenian Church, by the hand of Bishop Daniel. The Service of Calling (Friday evening, May 28) and the Ordination Service (Saturday morning, May 29) will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of St. Mark Church (Springfield, MA).

Dn. Timothy has been the Deacon-in-Charge of St. Mark Church since February. A native of our New England communities, he is a 2020 graduate of St. Nersess and St. Vladimir’s seminaries, who served a pastoral internship at the Holy Trinity Church (Cambridge, MA) before his assignment to Springfield. He is married to the former Julianne Tavitian, whom he met during a Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
Dn. Timothy will be the fourth priest ordained by the hand of Bishop Daniel. During this weekend’s ceremonies, Fr. Shnork Souin will serve as Dn. Timothy’s sponsoring priest, and Ralph Rafaelian as his ordination godfather.
