A special celebration will take place in the Eastern Diocese this weekend, as Dn. Albert Hambardzumyan is ordained as a priest of the Armenian Church, by the hand of Bishop Daniel. The Service of Calling (Friday evening, April 9, 6 p.m. CDT) and the Ordination Service (Saturday morning, April 10, 10 a.m. CDT) will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of St. John the Baptist Church in Greenfield, WI.
Dn. Albert has been the Deacon-in-Charge of St. John the Baptist Church since October. A native of Yerevan, he is a 2019 graduate of St. Nersess Seminary, who served a pastoral internship at the St. Hagop Church of Pinellas Park, FL, before his current assignment. He and his wife Sylva have an infant son, Mikayel.
During this weekend’s ceremonies, Fr. Norayr Kazazian will serve as Dn. Albert’s sponsoring priest, and Dr. Garo Garibian as his ordination godfather.
Dn. Albert will be the third priest ordained by Bishop Daniel. The ordination in Milwaukee will be part of the Primate’s extended visit to all the Diocesan parishes in Wisconsin and Illinois, which includes a regional clergy meeting on April 15 at St. George Church of Waukegan, IL.
