2020 Diocesan Assembly Has Been Cancelled

The Eastern Diocese has announced that the 118th Diocesan Assembly will not go forward as scheduled, in consideration of concerns over travel and large gatherings in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Along with the Diocesan Assembly, this year’s Women’s Guild Assembly, Clergy Conference, and the social events surrounding the assembly have also been cancelled.

The annual gathering had been scheduled to convene April 30-May 3, 2020, to be hosted by the St. Sarkis Church of Carrollton, TX.

The decision to cancel the Diocesan Assembly was made by the Diocesan Council under the presidency of Primate Bishop Daniel, after considerable deliberation and consultation with health professionals, senior church leaders, and leaders of the host parish.

The Diocesan Council has left open the possibility of rescheduling the assembly for later this year.
