Having returned to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin after his brief trip to the United States, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, communicated this week with Diocesan Primate the Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan, in a gracious letter expressing his fatherly appreciation.
“We were happy to participate in the opening ceremony of the ‘Armenia!’ exhibition at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art,” wrote His Holiness. “We are certain that during the next few months thousands of museum visitors will have the opportunity to become acquainted more closely with our nation’s centuries’ old rich spiritual-cultural legacy.”
Catholicos Karekin II had special words of commendation for the new Primate. “We were greatly moved by your kind, caring attentiveness, shown to us and to our entourage,” His Holiness wrote, noting especially the Primate’s warm remarks offered during the impromptu visit to St. Vartan Cathedral of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“We highly value your devotion and kind filial affections,” the Catholicos wrote.
He concluded: “Once again we convey to you and to the diocesan staff our Pontifical blessings, and pray that our Heavenly Lord will grant you many years of healthy and blessed life, successes, and every good thing in your spiritual service.”
