His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has officially announced that he will elevate newly-elected Diocesan Primate the Very Rev. Fr. Daniel Findikyan to the rank of bishop.
In his letter dated June 14, in gracious reply to the petition of the Diocesan Council chairman and secretary, respectively James Kalustian and Mona Karoghlanian, His Holiness wrote:
“We impart our pontifical blessings to you for your good and zealous efforts for the brightness of your divinely-protected Diocese. Once again congratulating you on the occasion of the election of your new Diocesan Primate, we are pleased to follow-up on your request to grant Daniel Vartabed the episcopal order. After we confirm the date of the episcopal ordination, you will receive notification accordingly.”
The date of the elevation ceremony has yet to be announced. His Holiness confirmed and conferred his blessing on Fr. Findikyan’s election to the primacy on May 8, a few days after Fr. Findikyan’s election during the 116th Assembly of the Eastern Diocese.
